WSET Level 1 - Wine

WSET Level 1 - Spirits

My journey into wine began around 2019 after becoming friends with a wine expert at one of my local bars. Through various tastings and conversations he opened my eyes to just how vast the world of wine was, and how little I knew about it. The information he provided was fascinating, but what really caught my attention was his passion. People would come in on a regular basis just to have a conversation with him and hear every detail about what they were drinking. He showed me that wine was more then just a drink, but was instead an experience meant to be shared.

This was my inspiration for starting Wine Declassified. I put in the work gathering facts about wine, doing tastings and keeping up with industry news so that you don't have to. My hope is that by simplifying wine and presenting it as he did, I can share that same passion with the world.

WSET Level 1 - Wine

I started in wine back in 2017 when I took my first job at a local winery & vineyard. It was there that I learned about the basics of wine, like how to properly open a bottle, to the more advanced topics, like the effects of seasonal activity. After spending about a year there I ended up moving to another state (to further my education), and once again found myself working at a local winery & vineyard.

A few years passed and I again moved, this time back home. In need of a job, I ended up being hired at a local wine bar. Here I became friends with a wine expert who loved talking about wine to anyone and everyone. Our conversations and working together really opened my eyes to the world of wine and all it had to offer.

Since then, I have received my first WSET certification in wine, furthered my knowledge on the subject, and surrounded myself with people who were equally as excited to experience all that wine has to offer.
